Kathy's birthday is today. We have been friends for almost 30 years. I met her in August after our second son was born. Kathy's mother, Tina, was my supervisor in the cafeteria where I worked as a baker. Tina invited my family to her family's camp for the day and that's where I met Kathy. She had just found out that she was pregnant and there I was with a brand new, month old baby! We had an instant bond.
Kathy likes to tell the story of how our friendship was "meant to be" because our lives have so many similarities. Our husbands both had the same job (with different companies), they have the same first and middle names, we were all married in the same year one week apart, our husband's fathers have the same name, both hubbies are quiet and on the shy side, Kathy and I can chatter for hours and never run out of anything to say.
We raised our children together, we've gone on road trips together, learned how to scrapbook together, we go grocery shopping together (out to dinner first, of course... you should never food shop on an empty stomach!). We have held each other up through job losses, family crisises, losses of loved ones, and health scares. We've celebrated births, anniversaries, weddings, and career changes.
She's the best... Happy Birthday Kathy!!
