'On a jet-ski. A non-moving jet ski, but in the water,' she said.
Margot did not specify when or with who the intimate moment took place.
The Hollywood star began dating British assistant director, Tom Ackerley, 28, in 2014 after meeting on the set of Suite Française in 2014.
The couple tied the knot two years later in a secret wedding in Byron Bay.

Oscar nominee Margot landed her breakout role in The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, which catapulted her to international stardom.
She played Leonardo DiCaprio's on-screen lover, Naomi Lapaglia, in the Martin Scorsese drama, and she previously recalled the awkward moment she watched her famous 'spread-eagle' scene with her family.
'It was a bit odd, we had a screening... I didn't really think it through and suddenly I was sitting there,' she once told Sunday Night.
'And after the screening, It was cool with most family members, but afterwards [my older brother Lachlan] and I had the most awkward conversation ever.
'He tried to say congratulations, and we tried to hug it out, and it was just so weird that I said, "OK, we don't have to talk for a couple of days now"... And then we never spoke of it again!'
