I am guessing that when you think 'high fashion' . The thought of Pat Kenny doesn't creep into your head. But there was an interesting article in the Sunday Times last week.
Naturally the bit I was interested in was the fashion aspect of it.
Pat Kenny is a 10% shareholder in 29 Conduit street. A building which is occupied by none other then Moschino. Yeah, your sitting up now aren't you!
Anyway, the article mentioned that the building owes Anglo Irish ( yes THAT Anglo Irish) bank €6 Million.
But he also has a 1% stake in an Irish consortium that owns 50% of a 420,000 shopping mall in prague. Investors in the mall include Puma and Benetton. This building owes Anglo €60 Million.
So Pat Kenny has his fingers in some very fashionable pie. Moschino are not to be sniffed at. Puma on the other hand, Ew....
The article mentioned a few non fashion related things Kenny is involved in, but naturally the fashion pieces caught my eye. Will we ever find a way out of our shite economy? With companies owing serious debts like this. It doesn't look likely.
The papers even announced yesterday that each man, woman and child in Ireland now have a bill of €12,000 each to clear the debt in Ireland. I don't know about you. But I haven't even got €12. Let alone the three 0's after that. It's disgusting in this day and age that those responsible for this mess are not being made accountable while decent people are loosing homes, jobs and much more. Right, I am taking a half an hour. Because I actually can't blog through white fury at this mess. I promised this would be light hearted site and damned if I can't keep it that way.
